The Chamber of Commerce of Cuba and the Colon Free Zone (CFZ) strengthen Institutional relations

On March 11th, a virtual meeting was held between Mr. Geovani Ferrari, General manager of the CFZ and Dr. Celia Labora Rodríguez, Director of the International Relations Division of the Cuban institution, accompanied by Rosario Ferrer, commercial Vicepresident of the Corporation CIMEX SA

During the meeting, both parties exchanged about business interests and the results of the virtual meeting held in recent days between Mr. Ferrari and Executives of the Cuban biopharmaceutical industry. The representative of the CIMEX Corporation referred the experience of work of her institution with the CFZ and theirs interests in expanding the portfolio of suppliers. Business opportunities in the culture sector were also discussed, as well as logistical difficulties that are manifested in the transportation of cargo in the Caribbean in general.

Both parties agreed to prepare a Road Map that includes actions of promotion in order to increase trade between Cuba and the CFZ, in terms of exports and imports. Mr. Ferrari stated that the ZLC is currently a relevant logistics center for Cuba and for the rest of the Latin American countries and stressed the importance they attach to the development of shopping tourism.

Top management of the CFZ have been present in several editions of the International Fair of Havana and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba visited the facilities of the CFZ in 2019.
